You may recall that we have been conducting the Great Caterpillar Experiment! We found caterpillars in the backyard and soon learned that they were Oleander Caterpillars. We found TONS on the tree in the yard and kept two in a jar so we could watch up close and personally what would happen. Our caterpillars ate lots and lots of leaves and soon spun their cocoons. I have no idea how many days these little suckers should be staying in their cocoons, but they are still there. However, we did see some “Polka Dot Moths” out and about in the backyard. Crazy how the caterpillars can turn from orange hairy critters to these blackish/ bluish polka dot moths.
I know you’ve been on the edge of your seat wondering how the Great Caterpillar experiment would turn out. I’ll keep you posted if there is any activity in our little jar. Until then, enjoy this picture of the polka dot moth.
